ALRI Activity Cancellation Policy

In the event of bad weather, any staff development activities scheduled to take place at the ALRI will be cancelled:

IF EITHER
Boston Public Schools (BPS) OR UMass Boston
have cancelled classes for that day.

If UMass is open, but BPS is not, then ALRI staff will work, but staff development activities will NOT take place.

If bad weather develops in the middle of the day, the College may on occasion close down early, in which case ALRI events would be cancelled or would end early. We'll do our best to help you avoid wasted trips.

Ways to find out if we are closed or activities are cancelled:

1) Call the ALRI main number, 617-287-4070. Check our website at http://sabes.org/boston

2) Check the television and radio stations which carry school closing announcements (for BPS and UMB) starting at 5:30 am –
WBZ TV Channel 4
WCVB Channel 5
WHDH Channel 7
WRKO 680 AM
WBZ 1030 AM
WUMB 91.9 FM

3) To check on UMass Boston, call the UMB Main Switchboard number, 617-287-5000, which will carry a voicemail announcement notifying callers if the campus will be open for operation. Please do not call the Public Safety offices; their lines must remain open in case of emergency.
