Overview

This is the second in a series of structured, facilitated sharing meetings designed specifically for Workplace Education staff.

    Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Teachers and coordinators in Workplace Education programs (Priority will be given to staff from the six organizations currently funded by ESE to deliver Workplace Education)
Description

In this sharing group meeting, we’ll continue our focus on contextualized curriculum.  You’ll practice adapting and using authentic workplace materials to develop curriculum.  You are welcome to bring documents or scenarios you would like to work on in a small group. Come prepared to discuss why you chose these materials or scenarios:  What workplace issues do they address? What are the characteristics of the learners in the class (job categories, level, etc.)?

At our last meeting, attendees expressed interest in learning about curriculum resources. Feel free to bring sample materials and examples of supplementary resources (published and online) that you use and we’ll begin generating a resource list.

As time allows, we will introduce authentic assessment and developing workplace-related outcomes.
