The aim of this workshop is to develop a message and strategy fostering an understanding of the integral benefits adult education programs contribute to the community. Customizing the message to specific partnerships is key to this exploration.

  • Novice through experienced directors, site coordinators, and community planners

Through a customized approach, you will strengthen the skills needed to engage community partners and to communicate the significant benefits adult education programs contribute to their community. You will also identify strategies for attracting and retaining students as a part of your overall communication plan. 

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Articulate a clear message about your adult education program’s purpose, goals, and benefits to the community
  • Identify the partners and stakeholders that your message needs to reach
  • Customize your messaging to engage a specific partner
  • Assess current marketing approaches used to recruit students
  • Determine how communication with current students can be strengthened to help increase retention rates
  • Outline the key elements of an effective comprehensive communication plan for your program
