Overview

This new two-part training on formative assessment, developed by Andy Nash, Director of the New England Literacy Resource Center, prepares instructors to create and use formative assessment as part of daily standards-based instruction.

    Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • ESOL teachers at all levels
Description

Part 2 of this content-based training, facilitated by ESOL content expert Laura Porter, focuses on applying what you learned in Part 1 about standards-based formative assessment to your own ESOL lessons. In this session, you will use a guiding process to create formative assessments that address both the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRSAE) and your own lesson objectives. You are expected to bring a real lesson for which you would like to develop a formative assessment tool or process, and to report a month later on its implementation.

Part 1 is a prerequisite to attending Part 2. Part 1 will be held on February 8, 2018, and you must register for Part 1 separately HERE.

To register for Part 2, select the Register tab above.
