The SABES approach to supporting license-seeking teachers is collaborative,
much like most of the trainings we offer. SABES regional
office staff can answer
your questions or direct you to someone who can. The SABES
Librarian is very willing to help you find books, articles,
and other resources you might need. In addition, at least one
teacher from each region has generously agreed to act as a "peer
coach" to fellow license-seekers (in the future, we hope to
add many more volunteers to this list). Also, at the SABES Central
Resource Center, Carey Reid is always
available to answer your questions and help in other ways. At DOE,
you can always contact the Office of Educator
Certification and Licensure.
As the new license rolls out and more license-seeking
teachers come forward, SABES hopes to link teachers to other teachers—or
to support whole programs—to form groups and go after the license
together.
