Overview

This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted one month prior to each meeting.

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources.
Description

At the April meeting, we will have two guest speakers:

  • Toni Machowsky, Esq, a member of Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) and program director of Justice AmeriCorps, who will speak to us how we can help our immigrant students.
  • Ruby Reyes, the Literacy Hotline coordinator, who will speak about how to connect learners and volunteers with area literacy and support programs like child care and career centers.
