Description

This three-hour, self-paced course is designed for individuals and teams who are building or revising program curriculum for ABE ELA classes. It covers key terms, expectations, and processes related to ELA curriculum products (i.e., Scope & Sequence, unit plans, sample lesson plans, and teacher guidance). It targets ACLS-approved tools for each product.

Instructional leaders guiding the ELA curriculum work for a program are encouraged to complete this course prior to constructing their curriculum team and planning the work. Completion of this course will enable them to form an effective curriculum team and map out a process and schedule for the work.

Team members from a program may take the course individually, debriefing with one another at certain points during the course and/or upon completion of the course. Curriculum teams should plan at least one meeting to debrief the course.

You will receive three PD hours in LACES upon completion of this course.

Please note: You cannot access this course from the SABES website. You will receive an email from the ELA PD Team 1–2 days before the course begins with instructions on how to access the self-paced course in Canvas.
