Navigating Pathways to Opportunity prepares advisors, coaches, and college and career navigators to provide the comprehensive support that their students need to successfully transition to career pathways, workforce training programs, and postsecondary education. In this self-paced course, you will learn strategies for identifying and engaging your students’ aspirations, addressing barriers, and building a comprehensive network of support to promote persistence.

In this self-paced course, you will identify the key components of college and career navigation and explore the skills, resources, and partnerships needed to be an effective navigator.
Through readings, videos, and facilitated online discussion forums, you will acquire the skills and resources needed to develop a Navigator Program Plan, which will include your plans for facilitated group activities, collaborating with instructors, and using data proactively in your advising work.
Format & Requirements: The course is entirely self-paced with no synchronous meetings. Instead, you will complete one module and related assignments each week and engage with colleagues in the discussion board. You can expect to spend between three and four hours per week on this course, for a total of 18–24 hours.
