This professional development activity/course is designed for:
Are you thinking about enrolling in the STAR online training? Wondering what it's all about? This video is for you!
STAR is a reading reform initiative. By watching this video, you will have a greater understanding about the online components of the blended STAR training and how you can support your instructor(s) as you both participate in this training. You will learn about the different modules in the training, what is needed for successful implementation, and how the STAR certified trainers provide coaching/technical assistance.
The syllabus for the STAR training, the revised STAR Handbook, and a PDF of the slides shown on the video will also be provided.
Program directors whose teachers will be participating in STAR FY20 and who have not themselves participated in the blended STAR training are strongly encouraged to watch this video. If you took part in the previous face-to-face STAR training of a few years ago, you will find this video helpful as the training has changed significantly.
Shortly before the course begins you will receive a separate email from Joanne Harrington at Quinsigamond Community College with instructions on how to access the course through Blackboard. The course cannot be accessed from the SABES calendar.
