This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting.
This advisor sharing group meeting is open to those working in the West region.
- Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources.
This professional development activity/course is designed for:
You are invited to join Western MA ABE and ESOL advisors from across the region as we share and learn from each other with regards to continuing to provide high-quality advising services for adult learners, continuing largely with virtual formats. A topic of focus for this meeting will be self-care and motivation: for both ourselves as staff as well as students in your program. How are you maintaining your own energy and motivation? How about your students' engagement, motivation, and persistence?
You are invited to share your own experiences and resources with the group. Also joining us will be Allison Reid, who presented a webinar on the topic of self-care for MCAE (the Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education) this past spring. As this meeting will be for the Western MA region advisors only, please also feel free to come prepared to share about program changes, recruitment for upcoming cohorts, and any other various opportunities and resources for students in the region.
Note: Please save the date of April 30th from 10am - 12pm, which will be the last cohort meeting of the year.
We will be meeting via Zoom, and Ruzica Banovic will send you information and the link for joining online a few days prior to the meeting.
