This professional development activity/course is designed for:
How do we fulfill the expectations of the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRSAE) with struggling readers, advanced readers and everyone in-between? Close Reading is part of the answer.
Reading Anchor One of the CCRSAE states: "Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly to make logical inferences from it; cite specific textual evidence when writing or speaking to support conclusions drawn from the text."
Over the course of 8 PD hours, watch six asynchronous video presentations, reflect in a discussion forum, and participate in two live online meetings to discuss the strategies and content.
The course opens on Wednesday, April 7th.
The two virtual live sessions will take place on:
- Wednesday, April 28, 3 - 4 PM
- Wednesday, May 19, 3 - 4 PM
Please note: This online course takes place in Blackboard and via Zoom. It cannot be accessed from the SABES website. You will receive a separate email from Joanne Harrington at Quinsigamond Community College with instructions on how to access the course.
