Digital literacy is vital to adult learners’ lives, education, and employment. Because of this need, adult educators have a vital role to play in developing their own digital literacy as well as supporting learners’ pursuit of increased digital literacy. In this presentation, we will define digital literacy and examine the elements it includes.
We will use the Maryland Digital Literacy Framework and Instructor Implementation Guide as an example of how to organize core competencies. With this model as a foundation, we will explore the implementation of these elements, and you will begin to develop an action plan.
