This professional development activity/course is designed for:
The Big Idea: you don't have to recreate the wheel every time you tackle a new science topic; just change the focus while re-using some of your earlier activities.
Join us for a brief exploration of how one activity can be used for different topics. Experience a few questions and activities as a student. Then, step back for teacher talk about the planning and decisions behind the scenes, including making a match with appropriate formative assessments.
Facilitator Tessa Peixoto is currently teaching in person, and taught via Zoom and Google Classroom for most of the past two years. She will draw on her experiences and examples in both settings.
Leave with some resources and ideas for your own forays into teaching general science to your adult learners.
Please note that this session is not accessible from the SABES calendar. You will receive an email from Joanne Harrington one to two days before the session with access instructions.
