Overview

This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting.

While this sharing group has been primarily for those in a specific region, now that all meetings are online, some meetings (like this one) are open to all. Please plan to join four meetings a year, regardless of which region you join, in order to make room for all.

Description

Joselyn Marte and Jannette Marte, advisors from the Lawrence Public Schools' Adult Learning Center, will be presenting a workshop entitled "Techniques for Motivating the Adult Learners in your classroom".

An important component of our job as educators is to help our adult learners develop motivation for learning and maintain that motivation throughout their engagement in our programs. Student motivation in the K-12 system is easy to nurture, but how do you encourage the students that are adults in your program? Come to our presentation to access information that will increase your understanding of the needs and challenges faced by our adult learners and the role of the educator in promoting practices that increase motivation.

Note: Ruzica Banovic (ruzica_banovic@worlded.org) will confirm your registration and send you the link to join the session several days prior to the event.
