How can we create math classes where students thrive? What would that classroom look and feel like? To be successful in a math class, students need to feel that they are significant and that they belong. Teachers have the power to set a culture that fosters this. Classroom culture has a strong influence on student attendance, retention, motivation, learning, and ownership of learning. When students feel like they belong in the math classroom, they will have positive math learning experiences.
