  • Teachers of reading and literacy who use Newsela
Description

In this session, Newsela Professional Learning Specialist Patrick Hurley will model how to use Newsela ELA to teach, practice, and assess important reading skills aligned to the science of reading. 
We will be finding subject-specific content and addressing how to amplify reading skills during those read-throughs. After that, we’ll see how to utilize Newsela reporting data to plan for future skills instruction.

Course Requirements: To complete this course, you must attend the 1.5-hour online session with Newsela. It is recommended, but not required that you complete the three to five hour Newsela Certified Educator (NCE) Program self-paced course before attending this training.
