My name is Samia Omran, and I’m from Libya, where I was a professor of Economics. I also had my salon-style art and cartoon illustrations published in newspapers in Libya before coming to the United States in 2015. I became a Massachusetts DESE Adult and Community Learning Student Ambassador last year.

I am a single mother with four children. I am a simple person, an artist, hardworking, friendly, and I speak Arabic. My favorite activities are drawing, writing poems, and helping people. I am passionate about education, creativity, engagement, challenges, and collaborating effectively with my peers.

Despite all the drama and challenges in my life, I never give up because I believe they have helped build me into a stronger person with valuable experience. Reaching my goals and making people smile makes me feel like I am resting among the stars.
