The Anti-Racist Educator Questionnaire and Rubric is a two-part self-assessment tool providing a lens through which educators can do meaningful evaluation of their own pedagogical (and andragogical) assumptions, biases, and backgrounds. The components include a self-examination, links to continuing education and professional development exercises and resources, and a highly detailed rubric with numerous best practices. This tool uses research that was done in K-12 but it has been thoughtfully adapted to an adult educational setting and staff, including questions devoted to addressing whose voices are heard in the classroom, who is represented in the curriculum, and who has power in the educational settings. Although it could be valuable at any time, it is specifically intended to be used in preparation for a new school year.
