This offering is a facilitated regional sharing and learning group for new and experienced advisors. Agenda topics are selected based on the interests and needs of attendees and emerging issues in the field, and they are posted two weeks before the meeting. The October meeting will feature the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Outstation Coordinator.
- Both new and experienced advisors. Instructors who play a role in education and career planning are also welcome to attend to share and learn about best practices and resources.
This professional development activity/course is designed for:
You are invited to join ABE and ESOL advisors from across the Western MA region for a sharing and learning conversation. In addition to open conversation with the purpose of sharing and learning from other advisors in the field, participants will be given a presentation from the DESE Outstation Coordinator whose role is to facilitate a two-way referral system between ABE/ESOL programs and the One-Stop Career Centers (OSCC). There will be time provided for a group brainstorm on how advisors and programs can strengthen partnerships with their local OSCC as well as a tour of the Future Works facility with an overview of program offerings that students can engage with.
