Joining the Western MA ABE and ESOL Advisor Sharing and Learning group this month will be Sheryl Cruz of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission to speak more about the organization and accessing services that are available to our students. MRC is an organization consisting of vocational rehabilitation that helps individuals with disabilities to live and work independently.

We will also dedicate time during this meeting to talk about collaborative advising strategies between advisors and teachers, so please come prepared to share how you and your program use innovative and collaborative strategies to support ABE and ESOL students. This can include any advising lessons in the classroom, advising practices, student and group activities, education and career planning tools, etc... It would be ideal to have materials to share out on the spot with the group. If you have materials to share but are unable to make copies, please send them to Sarah at sknight@shamass.org and she will happily make copies to share with the group.
