Introduction to Learning Disabilities in Adults is brought to you by the SABES Curriculum & Instructional PD Centers for ELA and Math, in partnership with LINCS. Through self-paced modules, you will explore differences in the definitions of learning disabilities (LD), the ramifications for adults with LD, testing and instructional accommodations appropriate for individuals with LD, and instructional strategies for teaching the "soft skills" needed for workplace success.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:
Introduction to Learning Disabilities in Adults combines three online, self-paced modules from LINCS Learning to Achieve, adding brief learning engagements and knowledge checks to facilitate the intake and processing of this information. Massachusetts-specific LD resources have been included to support our adult education practitioners.
You may choose any combination of the three modules, in any order, completing a brief assessment after each module in order to receive PD hours:
- Definitions of Learning Disabilities (1.5 hours)
- Accommodations (1 hour)
- Workforce Preparation Strategies (2 hours)
"Introduction to Learning Disabilities in Adults" will be offered three times in FY20.
Shortly before the course begins you will receive a separate email from Joanne Harrington at Quinsigamond Community College with instructions on how to access the course through Blackboard. You cannot access this course through the SABES calendar.
