Overview

In order to become a more confident and accomplished writer, one has to actually start writing! Quick Writes, Journaling, and Bio-Poems will help students reduce their reluctance to write and increase their writing fluency, and can be used with remote teaching and learning.

Writing Fluency Strategies: Quick Writes, Journaling, and Bio-Poems

This session focuses on strategies that will help students reduce their reluctance to write and increase their writing fluency.

There are three components:

  1. A live session that introduces at least two strategies, a brief discussion of the relevant research, and its implications for teaching (2 PD hours)--Wed. 3/3/2021, 1-3 PM
  2. Applied practice
  3. After two weeks, a follow-up live session to debrief and reflect on the strategies tried in those two weeks (1 PD hour)--Wed. 3/17/2021, 1-3 PM

Complete all three components to receive PD hours.
