In this two-hour Zoom session, participants learn how to transfer ESOL best practices in listening instruction to the online environment using a variety of engaging activities and tasks.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:
Transferring in-person listening lessons to the online environment is one of the smoothest transitions teachers can make in their ESOL instruction. In this session, teachers learn how to provide learners with active online listening practice, transfer effective listening tasks from the in-person classroom to online ones, and use Zoom features to enhance a variety of fun and engaging activities. The presenter will demonstrate these tasks and activities and provide opportunities for participants to experience a virtual listening lesson on Zoom. The presenter will also provide the link to a Google folder with listening resources during the session.
This session is part of a series on language skills instruction in the virtual classroom. Sessions are offered on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. The other sessions in the series are:
