Join this session to learn about English in America, a course for students living and working in the United States who need to improve their language skills and gain important life skills. This multilevel course includes a wide range of topic-based modules with a strong EL civics focus.

  • ESOL instructors and civics & citizenship educators using BurlingtonEnglish
  • Teachers and designated individuals interested in learning about the courses and features available to them in the BurlingtonEnglish platform
Description

Learn about the BurlingtonEnglish civics course,English in America. With it, students living and working in the United States will improve their language skills and gain important life skills.

In this session, you will learn about the many components available for teachers and students. You will also learn how to use this course to supplement the BurlingtonEnglish General English series and prepare students for the Naturalization Test.

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Identify the different components in English in America
  • Learn how to teach with the In-Class Lessons (ICLs)
  • Learn how to use the corresponding Student Lessons (SLs)
  • Learn how to use this course for a multilevel class
