NEW! This engaging course provides an introduction to the ABE Content Standards for English Language Arts (ELA) described in the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education (CCRSAE) and how to use them to provide standards-based instruction in the ABE classroom. 

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • New ELA adult educators at all levels
  • Anyone who needs to learn about or review the CCRSAE for ELA
Description

How: This self-paced course is composed of readings, videos, and activities designed to help you put the CCRSAE for ELA and key instructional shifts into practice. The course provides an introduction to the ELA standards, explains the importance of the three instructional shifts prompted by the standards, and covers helpful resources and teaching strategies to address the three instructional shifts in your teaching practice.

Note that this is a NEW course! If you previously took Recipe for Success, you do not need to enroll in this course unless you'd like a refresher.

When:

  • Stays open for four weeks
  • Takes approximately four hours to complete, but you can work at your own pace

Earn 4 LACES PD hours by completing all activities.

Please note: You cannot access this online course from the SABES website. You will receive a separate email from Ebony Vandross (ebony_vandross@worlded.org) at World Education several days before the course begins with instructions on how to access the course in Canvas.
