In this workshop, learn specific instructional strategies for teaching basic writing skills to struggling writers, including students with language-based learning disabilities (LBLD) and other learning challenges. Attendees will receive an array of classroom-ready materials to scaffold writing instruction and help students move from sentence to paragraph-level writing.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:
This session presents specific instructional strategies for teaching basic writing skills to struggling writers, particularly students with language-based learning disabilities (LBLD). Educators will learn strategies to help students cohesively string sentences together into various forms of paragraph-level written expression.
This is a strategy-heavy session with an array of supplied materials that are readily usable in any class. While designed for students with LBLD, these strategies have also proven helpful for English learner (EL) students and others with a variety of learning challenges.
Participants will receive 2 PD hours in LACES upon completion of this session.
