This professional development activity/course is designed for:
In this session, Newsela Professional Learning Specialist Patrick Hurley will walk you through the process of exploring, building, and working within your Newsela account to integrate digital literacy experiences that are appropriate for your students. You'll experience the four steps to designing a learning experience with Newsela: Prepare, Preview, Practice, and Process. You’ll follow each step to design a research-based learning experience proven to accelerate student achievement. This session will include live modeling and independent practice, and will be customized to fit your current curriculum objectives and topics.
Designing Learning Experiences will expand on your experiences from the Newsela Certified Educator (NCE) and support you in piecing all the tools and features together into one cohesive lesson for your learners.
Course Format: The course is online facilitated.
Course Requirements: To complete this course, you must attend the 1.5-hour online session with Newsela. It is recommended, but not required that you complete the three to five hour Newsela Certified Educator (NCE) Program self-paced course before attending this training. Click to begin the NCE.
