This professional development activity/course is designed for:
This self-paced, online course offered by Newsela is meant to deepen your understanding of the Newsela platform and provide you with guidance on practicing literacy skills, building background knowledge and including diverse perspectives in your learning experiences.
Learners will design a research-based learning experience proven to accelerate student achievement by following the 4 Ps: Prepare, Preview, Practice and Process. This course will include live modeling and independent practice.
After completion of the course, you will earn five hours of professional learning credit, a certificate of completion, signature badge, and access to a community of educators.

Course Format: This is a self-paced online course. There are no real-time, synchronous meetings. It will take three to five hours to complete.
Course Requirements: We recommend completing this three to five hour course in 30 days.
