This professional development activity/course is designed for:
Support staff are often the first people with whom students meet and form relationships at adult education programs. They play critical roles in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students, all the while managing the program's operations, data collection, and reporting systems. The Support Staff Sharing Group is intended to offer an opportunity for professionals to network, share successes and challenges, and problem-solve together.
The topic for this meeting is Supporting Others & Supporting Self.
This first meeting of the year will focus on strategies for supporting the needs of students and staff while also taking care of oneself. Our conversation will touch on challenges, strategies, and resources around trauma-informed practices, vicarious trauma, and self-care to support student and staff success. Please come prepared to collaborate, share, and offer your ideas for supporting these meetings going forward.
Several days before the event, Jane Brandt (jane_brandt@worlded.org) will send you an email with the Zoom link. You will also receive an invitation to enroll in the Support Staff Sharing Group Canvas page.
