  • Any member of the adult education community who is a Newsela user
Description

In this session, Newsela Professional Learning Specialist Patrick Hurley will explore the knowledge and skills needed to effectively utilize Newsela to create a more inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students. We will review the tools Newsela offers and how to use them to connect classroom learning to students' diverse backgrounds and interests.

Why Culturally Responsive Practices (CRP)? We want our learners to find mirrors in our instruction—reflections of their identities and the communities that they come from. This session will focus on social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies to incorporate into your instruction.
