Join SABES and the Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy (MIRA) Coalition to review Know Your Rights information for interactions with law enforcement, program-wide preparedness, and best practices for creating safe spaces for your students.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:
This Know Your Rights training for adult educators aims to equip you with the knowledge and tools to effectively support your students and school communities in navigating the complexities of the current immigration climate. You will gain a foundational understanding of your students' rights and responsibilities, including interactions with immigration enforcement, program-wide preparedness planning, and the importance of creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. Thanks to the MIRA Coalition’s expertise, you will have the opportunity to learn about strategies for building trust with your students, fostering a sense of safety and security, and advocating for policies that protect and support immigrant communities.
Once you register for this training, you will be sent a form where you can submit your questions to our MIRA Coalition facilitator in advance. By doing this, you will help tailor the training to your needs and ensure your needs are being met. Please submit your questions by Tuesday, February 25 at 5 p.m.
Course Format & Requirements: To complete this course, you must attend the 1-hour session. Please note that this session will not be recorded, but resources will be disseminated to registrants afterwards.
