Literacy Minnesota offers outstanding trainings for adult literacy volunteers and professional development courses for Adult Basic Education teachers and staff. This library of online webinars is a great complement to SABES offerings, and includes topics such as Distance and Blended Learning Basics; The 3 Ls: The Difference Between Learning Disability, Low Ability, and Low Literacy; Citizenship Tutor Training; Northstar Digital Literacy Foundations; Using Volunteers in the Classroom; Informal Reading Assessments for ABE; Reducing the Stigma of Mental Illness; Survivors Among Us: Understanding PTSD and Other Traumas Which Can Impact Adult Student Learning; and Suicide Prevention for Adult Educators. Out-of-state practitioners are welcome to explore and use the online learning resources, but cannot receive CEUs and should not submit assignments.
