This 1.5-hour training, participants will learn Evidenced-Based Reading Instruction (EBRI) strategies to help teach students how to read more fluently. The session will be facilitated by two experienced MA Student Achievement in Reading (STAR) nationally certified trainers.

During this session, you will learn why it is important for your students to read fluently. We will explain the three components of reading fluency, accuracy, rate, and prosody, and the impact these have on reading. EBRI strategies for teaching fluency will be introduced, and we will cover the importance of teaching reading using explicit instruction. These strategies can be adapted for the different reading levels of your students and are appropriate for in-person and remote instruction.
