Joan Schottenfeld has been a Massachusetts STAR trainer since 2011, and is an ELA curriculum coach and PD facilitator for SABES. She has been in the field of Adult Basic Education for over 15 years as site coordinator, teacher, and counselor, and has served on the SABES Advisory Board. She currently teaches at Julie's Family Learning Services in Boston. Before she discovered the ABE field, Joni was a high school English teacher and journalist.
