Jessica Filion is the Adult Basic Education Coordinator for Opportunity Academy in Holyoke, MA. She has several years of experience working with adult learners in a variety of contexts from teaching ESOL to the parents of her middle school students, to supporting a cohort of learners studying to become paraprofessionals, and now coordinating an entire program.
Jessica has been an educator for over 17 years and has built learning communities in large urban areas in Los Angeles and New York, as well as smaller gateway cities in the Commonwealth like Lawrence and Holyoke.
She holds a Master of Arts in English from Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English, a Master of Science in Urban Education from Mercy College, and a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity College, Hartford CT.
