Learn how to assess a student's writing abilities to inform instruction and how to help students revise their writing in a productive, skills-based manner. This session will be led by the associate director of the Landmark School Outreach Program.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:
This 90-minute session will first cover ways to diagnostically assess student writing ability as a means of informing relevant instruction. We will include ideas for possible diagnostic assessments, as well as an objective manner to evaluate students' diagnostic writing.
We will then shift to a discussion of meaningful revision tasks based on structured proofreading checklists. The creation of useful grading rubrics for writing will also be covered.
Participants will receive 1.5 PD hours in LACES upon completion of this session.
