Dori McCormack is the Director of the SABES Professional Development (PD) Center for ESOL. Prior to this role, she worked for the SABES-West Regional PD Center for over ten years on ABE/ESOL curriculum development, assessment, workforce development, advising, and ABE-to-college-transitions. She has a MA in Applied Linguistics, and over 20 years of experience in the ABE/ESOL field, teaching in a variety of venues, from community based programs to college writing classes; managing the education program in a correctional facility; educating ESOL teachers in both Massachusetts and Cuba; and presenting at state and national conferences. Dori was one of the writers of the MA ABE Curriculum Framework for ESOL 2004-2005 revising team, and of the MA Professional Standards for Teachers of Adult ESOL. As Director of the SABES PD Center for ESOL, she leads a team of consultants in developing and providing online and face-to-face standards-based professional development for ABE/ESOL teachers throughout Massachusetts.
