Updates: Winter 2023 "Returning to School" Campaign

Thank you to the Worcester Adult Learning Center and WALC students Amina and Emily for their participation in our campaign to support winter recruitment and enrollment through our new “Returning to School” campaign, a follow-up to the Summer 2022 “We’re Open” campaign. In the newly-released “Returning to School” videos, Amina and Emily share their experiences as adult learners: how they came to adult education, their growth, and their hopes and goals for the future. View the campaign here!

In February, our team sent flyers promoting the “Returning to School” videos to over 1500 organizations across Massachusetts. Both the videos and the flyers direct potential learners to the MA Adult Literacy Hotline for information about programs in their area.

The videos and flyers are posted on the “Returning to School” Campaign page. Flyers are available in English and Spanish.

You can also find more information about other free or low-cost classes across Massachusetts at https://adultedhelpdeskma.org/ or by calling 1-800-447-8844.

If you need any further assistance please contact alexandra_papagno@worlded.org.

The “Returning to School” videos were developed and presented by the MA Adult Education Professional Development System (SABES) in collaboration with the Worcester Adult Learning Center, and funded by the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - Adult and Community Learning Services. It was co-produced by the SABES Program Support PD Center, hosted at World Education, Inc., and the Communication Center, hosted at Education Development Center, Inc. The MA Adult Literacy Hotline is a project of the SABES PS PDC.

The MA Adult Education Help Desk (formerly the Massachusetts Adult Literacy Hotline) was created over 30 years ago to help connect adults with the programs and services they need. Since that time, we have managed a call center and website to connect adults with adult education programs and services across Massachusetts. In order to provide these potential learners with accurate information, it is critical that your program listing is up-to-date.

We encourage you to visit your program listing on the Helpdesk website to be sure it is current. For more information or if you would like to update your program information, please contact Hotline Coordinator Alexandra_papagno@worlded.org
