Interested in how to build an intentional advising program? Review two advising program scope and sequence documents to see how two programs map out and integrate advising services and activities for all students.
In 2020, the SABES Program Support PD Center worked with the Lawrence Adult Learning Center and Webster Adult Education to develop scope and sequence documents that demonstrate how they structure their advising services, create a program-wide approach to advising, and integrate the Indicators of Program Quality # 6 (the program ensures effective and equitable delivery of advising and support services). Programs reviewed the Effective Practices Aligned with IPQ #6 to note how the sub-indicators aligned with advising units.
Whether you already have a formal advising curriculum at your organization or you are in the planning stages, these advising program scope and sequence documents will give you ideas and inspiration for how to build one for your own program.
