Karen Greaves is the Instruction and PD Specialist for the SABES ELA Curriculum and Instruction PD Center. She brings years of experience as a K-12  English Language Arts and adult education teacher at Boston Public Schools (BPS).  More recently, she has worked as the Program Manager for the BPS Department of Adult Education, where she was responsible for leading the Instructional Leadership Team DEI implementation. Over the past four years, she also led the development of the Adult Diploma Pathways Program curriculum for the department. Her experience also includes coaching and contextualized instruction in the areas of financial literacy and college & career planning. 

Karen has a B.A in Literature from Emerson College and an M.Ed in. Secondary Education from the University of Massachusetts. She currently holds MA licenses in English 9-12,  English as a Second Language (ESL), Sheltered English Immersion (SEI), and a certification for Students with Moderate Disabilities.
