The SABES Program Support PD Center has a new Director! Alexandra Papagno took over for Luanne Teller, who retired in May 2023. Alexandra has more than a decade of experience in adult education, including her time as a teacher and program director. Before stepping into her new role as director, she oversaw the MA Adult Literacy Hotline and led PD and coaching on educational leadership, student leadership, and volunteer coordination at the Program Support PD Center. She is also the lead writer of an article on student leadership in the current issue of the COABE journal and a report documenting program-led DEI initiatives.

Previously, she led community-based programming combining ESOL and civic engagement and volunteer programming for the Boston Debate League. Alexandra is bilingual (English and Spanish), and her work is driven by a commitment to learning as a tool for individual and collective transformation and to making high-quality, student-centered learning opportunities available and accessible to all.
