Why White Instructors Should Explore Their White Racial Identity is an article that would be helpful in any Diversity, Equity & Inclusion training, individually or staff-wide, to provide a starting point for white educators to examine their racial identity and privilege. Brookfield, of University of St. Thomas presents the argument that white instructors need to examine their own racial identity because, “White racist structures, policies and practices continue to endure partly because whites don’t see how those structures are maintained to disadvantage people of color.” The references at the end of the article are a useful resource for continuing education and further staff development.
