Interested in maximizing Google tools such as Docs, Forms, and Classroom to enhance your instruction and increase students’ accessibility to your content? Join this online facilitated roundtable discussion for inspiration on designing and implementing engaging online/remote classes with your ESOL students using Google Apps. This session will include creative ideas, practical applications, and concrete examples of ways in which ESOL teachers (and advisors!) are currently using a variety of Google Apps to engage and communicate with students at all ESOL levels.
There are no prerequisites for this session, although participants will find it more useful if they are currently using Google Apps to support remote ESOL instruction.

With the rapid switch to remote ESOL instruction, a number of Google Apps have become popular for supporting specific instructional needs. These apps include Google Classroom for class organization and assignment sharing and sharing; Google Forms as a tool for surveying, quizzing, etc.; and Google Docs as a convenient way for students to share writing and receive feedback. Google offers a wide range of tools that support remote instruction, and options for integration are endless! In this panel session, several practitioners share how they have smoothly integrated these and other Google Apps into their remote instruction toolboxes to increase student engagement and maximize remote face-to-face learning opportunities.
In this 1.5-hour roundtable panel session, you will gain valuable ideas about how to use Google Apps in a wide range of ways to support your remote ESOL instruction. Panelists will share examples from their own teaching experiences using Google Apps with beginning to advanced ESOL students. You will hear about ways to use Google Apps to coordinate class activities, share resources and assignments, track student activities, collect formative assessment data, facilitate peer feedback exchange and teacher feedback on writing activities, build student engagement through collaborative activities, and more.
