Overview

Are you considering taking advantage of the free Aztec licenses for Massachusetts DESE-funded programs? In this session, you will get an introduction to the Aztec platform including the array of Aztec courses available to your students (including Spanish HSE) and best practices for delivering the courses to your learners. You will also learn about the administrative and reporting features available to programs. If you already have Aztec licenses but want to understand more about the platform or make a plan for how to use it in the coming school year, this workshop is for you, too!

    Audience

    This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • MA educators in programs that are considering using the Aztec Platform for adult basic education and high school equivalency students in both English and Spanish
  • MA educators with existing Aztec licenses who want to improve their use of Aztec next year
Description

In this session, Aztec Field Service Representative Nicole Guerra will give an overview of the Aztec platform, acquaint you with the extensive course list that is available to Massachusetts programs, demonstrate the instructional format of each course, and show you the dashboard and other administrative features. She will discuss best practices for making the most out of the student licenses, as well as ways in which teachers and programs can ensure a learner’s success. There will be time for your questions to be answered.

    Learning Objectives

    Upon completion of this professional development activity/course, you will be able to:

  • Get clarity on the range of courses and features available in Aztec
  • Understand the administrative tool features
  • Begin planning for program use of Aztec in the FY24 academic year
