With all the advising resources out there, wouldn’t it be useful to know which your peers have chosen to use with which students, and the ways they use them? This interactive session will use the recently released Career Planning and Job Search Resources for Advisors document as a basis to explore Massachusetts advisors' favorite advising tools and resources. The aim is to help you select the ones that your students can use to move forward on their career paths.
If your program has successful practices, we would love to hear about them! We also want to know what your questions about this topic are. Post both to our discussion board by 1/12 to inform our discussion.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:
This offering includes two parts: a webinar to identify and explore resources, and a project to integrate your learning.
Part 1: Webinar. During this 1.5-hour webinar, you will tour the Career Planning and Job Search Resources for Advisors collection and its numerous features. You will examine the tools and resources that are the most popular among advisors. Based on your advising needs and goals, you will select resources to explore more deeply, and exchange implementation ideas with colleagues. At the end of the session, you will draft a brief plan for using the advising activity you select.
Part 2: Applying Your Learning. After the webinar, you will finish your draft plan with the support of your colleagues and the facilitator. We estimate that this work will take about a half hour.
