Close your eyes and imagine your program in five years. What does it look like? What dreams have been realized? In what ways have your team, students, and partners innovated together? What relationships have been nurtured? How have students benefited?

Program directors and educational leaders are tasked with guiding a continuous improvement planning process that supports high-quality practices and a shared vision for student and staff success, with the goal of improving student outcomes” (IPQ 9). This three-part PD series guides you through that process, offering strategies and tools for planning, identifyingand engaging stakeholders, crafting a vision together, using data to evaluate and plan, aligning actions to the vision, and beginning to implement the vision. Along the way, we will explore what it takes to foster a sense of shared ownership and collective agency, as well as a culture of collaboration and innovation.

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • New and experienced program directors looking to engage in an inclusive continuous improvement planning process that accelerates students’ learning and outcomes
  • Staff members in any role and with any level of experience who will help lead or participate in a continuous improvement planning process

This course consists of three synchronous sessions, with program-based work and coaching between sessions. Sessions include:

  • Session 1: Preparing to Plan – Friday, March 29, 9:30am–1:00pm
  • Session 2: Leading with Data – Friday, April 12, 9:30am–1:00pm
  • Session 3: Developing & Implementing a Continuous Improvement Plan – Friday, May 3, 9:30am–1:00pm

Session 1 will be held online. Sessions 2 and 3 may be in person or hybrid, depending on participant availability. You will receive a survey about availability and preferences for in-person and hybrid options following registration.

This offering is meant to facilitate conversation and collaboration between and across teams. We encourage directors to participate with staff or students who will help lead or participate in the continuous improvement planning process. We will also facilitate conversation and networking between staff in similar roles at different organizations.

Coaching will be available for programs between and following the offering to support implementation. You are encouraged to share your process, outcomes, and reflections at a Continuous Improvement Planning Summit planned for Fall 2024.

Please note:  This offering is designed to be of adequate intensity and duration to promote meaningful program change. Program directors are expected to attend all sessions and complete this PD in its entirety. You will only register once via the calendar for all three PCI sessions.
