Overview

Directors must balance complex staff and student needs, local policies and protocols, and state guidance as they design, lead, and adapt program design, instructional practices, and program culture. The Directors Sharing Group is a peer-facilitated opportunity for directors to network, share resources and strategies, ask questions, and learn from and with one another. In this meeting, we will focus on collecting and using data for program planning.

    Audience

This professional development activity/course is designed for:

  • Directors and program leaders with any level of experience in their role
Description

Directors Sharing Group meetings are held quarterly and are open to anyone who works as a director or program leader, regardless of title or role. In each meeting, we address a different topic that is relevant to your work at the moment and what’s happening in your program. Please bring your burning questions, your hot topics, and your shining successes to share with the group!

The topic of this meeting is Collecting and Managing Data for Program Planning.

Data collection starts as soon as a potential student walks through the door. From dates and demographics, to learner goals and gains, the data we collect can inform decision making, program design, policies, funding opportunities and more. Let’s get together to discuss the data we collect, how we collect it, organize it, and use it for our benefit and the benefit of our students. We will explore how to use LACES to make data management easier and more effective. Please come prepared to collaborate, ask questions, and share ideas and resources.

Group Format: Sharing Group meetings are online facilitated: meetings are held live over Zoom. You will also be enrolled in a companion course in Canvas, where you will have access to resources and notes from each meeting and discussion boards to continue the conversation.

Beginning this year, all Directors Sharing Groups will be held statewide. Each meeting will include time for general discussion and updates, followed by breakout discussions organized by region or topic.

Course Requirements: To complete this course, you must attend the 1.5-hour session.
