This webinar introduces the Basic Disability Screening for Adult Educators (BDSAE), a research-based toolkit featuring four essential screenings designed to evaluate program accessibility and identify individual student accommodation needs. Participants will learn how to use these tools to foster inclusive environments and develop personalized Preferred Accommodations Plans.

This session starts with a concise look at core disability concepts and an analysis of program-wide inclusion levels. We then dive into the BDSAE toolkit, focusing on practical accommodations that can be implemented immediately. Participants will explore essential resources for ongoing development and gain hands-on practice in performing basic screenings, creating individualized support plans, and designing accessible classroom environments. We will also cover fundamental ACLS guidelines for maintaining ADA compliance.
Format & Requirements: This course consists of one online synchronous session of 1.5 hours and pre-work. The total estimated time to complete this course is 2.5 hours.
