Lisa Gimbel has been teaching (and learning from) adult English language learners for 18 years. She works at the Cambridge Community Learning Center, where she teaches ESOL, supervises teachers, and supports the program in integrating digital literacy skills, among other projects. Jon has worked in education for the last 19 years. His first foray into education was as an English teacher, teaching grades 5–12. For the last eleven years, Jon has worked in adult education, teaching classes and writing curriculum. At each step in his career as an educator, Jon has prioritized integrating technology into the classroom. Riva Pearson has been the ESOL Program Manager for JVS Hyde Park for eight years. Before that, she was the ESOL Program Coordinator for ABCD Mattapan. She has taught all levels of English and is currently teaching ESOL for Behavioral Health Careers. Riva is passionate about helping people find the tools they need to live their best lives. She has spent many years incorporating ADEI into her programs and loves thinking about how to make programs feel safer, more comfortable, and more fulfilling for both teachers and students. Deborah is a teacher currently working at New Bedford Public Schools in the Adult Learning Center. In her role she teaches digital literacy to ESOL adult learners and US History to Adult Diploma students. Her work is informed by this professional experience, as well as her academic background in linguistics and post-graduate coursework in TESOL.
