The Culturally Responsive Teaching in English Language Arts Community of Practice (CoP) series will explore some of the core principles of culturally responsive teaching (CRT) along with effective strategies for incorporating them into adult ELA instruction. Through engaging discussions, practical activities, and collaborative learning, participants will build the knowledge and skills necessary to affirm students’ diverse identities and enhance their academic growth.

EBRI: Diagnostic Assessment Of Reading - Administration Course (Online Blended)

Learn how to administer and interpret diagnostic reading assessments for adult learners, how to build individual reading profiles, and how to use this information to plan effective evidence-based reading instruction (EBRI). This course will include how to conduct diagnostic reading assessments, in the components of reading, including word reading, vocabulary, oral reading fluency, and comprehension.

Reading Skills For Today’s Adults: New + Improved Free Online Resources

Reading Skills for Today’s Adults (RSTA) is an online collection of leveled readings. It’s a well-known resource in adult education, but what some don’t know is that a group of teachers worked collaboratively to build engaging instructional supplements to add to the existing library. Join this session to explore these great resources for reading instruction that can be used in the classroom and for independent learning.
